Do You Need to Take a Couponing Break?

Couponing Break

Do you collect the Sunday coupon inserts and print almost every possible printable coupon that exists online? Are you constantly cutting and organizing coupons for grocery trips?

Now let me ask you these questions.

1. Are you getting overwhelmed by the piles of coupons that are not cut or organized and feel behind?
2. Is couponing becoming a dreaded task for you?
3. Are your stress levels very high when you think about finding, cutting, organizing, and printing coupons?
4. Is couponing no longer “fun” for you?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, you may need to simply take a break from couponing, and know that this is “ok!”

I have been couponing now going on for eight months. During the last month, I have been curious as to why there have not been any coupon inserts in my Sunday paper. But then something occured to me after the month had passed. I actually didn’t mind that there were no inserts in the paper. This meant that I was able to take a break. I didn’t have to cut hundreds of coupons for my grocery trips and I must say, I felt a little relieved. Now there have been items that I have had to buy and I think, “Ah, I know there is a coupon out for that and I wish I had printed it!” but then I realize that sometimes our mental health is much more valuable than saving $0.50 on Land O’Lakes Butter. The stress just isn’t worth it sometimes, and could end up costing you more in the long run.

So my fellow couponers, I am taking a break on couponing during the holidays. Why am I doing this? My circumstances during the next two months allow me to do this, and I am going to enjoy every minute of my break. Although I will be taking a break, don’t fret, for those of you that do still like coupon updates, I will be posting those. (*note, I will still be blogging daily)

Do I plan to continue to return to couponing? Of course! After the holidays, I will feel refreshed and ready to take on couponing again. But as with any job, “vacations” are a necessity, and I am excited about my couponing vacation! This break will allow me to come back into the new year and start fresh!

Take a few days, take a week, take a month. Take as much time as you need so that you can enjoy couponing again when you return and not be stressed or overwhelmed by them. If you are new to couponing, be sure to read my coupon tips.

Do you take breaks from couponing? How often? Do you feel you may need “a vacation” from couponing? Are you going to take one?  Leave me a comment!
