If you are looking for some crafts to make with your kids, here’s a great idea! I got the idea for the craft today from Enchanted Learning. If you need more ideas, be sure to visit the website. I modified the craft for my daughter since she was only three at the time, but this is the perfect craft for older children if they can write–have them write what they are thankful for around each feather (as seen in the picture below). Parents can write in what your child is thankful for if you have little ones.
1. Construction Paper (red, brown, orange, green, yellow)
2. Googly Eyes
Cut the pieces out using different colored construction to make the body, head and neck, legs, feathers, and beak. (Note: Adults can pre-cut shapes if you have small children.)
Have your child assemble pieces with glue.
On each feather, have your child write what he or she is thankful for.
She was very proud of her turkey and we displayed him on the refrigerator and named him, “Tom!”
