Now that the warmer temps have arrived in the Pacific Northwest, I’ve been taking advantage of the nice sunny days and trying to get outside with my family as much as possible! My three year old is in a phase where he loves to play with a small tub of water with his toys on the back porch. My two girls love to play four square with their friends as well as run around the neighborhood during games of hide and seek. My husband and I like to sit out and enjoy each others company on these warmer days while watching our kids play.
It doesn’t take much to make me happy. Give me a tall glass of iced tea on a warm, sunny day and I’m happy. Lately though, I’ve been interested in ‘being a kid again’ and enjoying an occasional icy treat outdoors. Due to limiting the dairy in my diet recently, SorBabes has been a great plant based alternative to ice cream. When I went to my local Fred Meyer this last week, I chose three different flavors to try – Raz’n Berry, Jam’n Lemon, and Cafe Almond. I must admit, it was hard to choose between the different flavors, but I chose to start out with these three flavors. I’ll head back for the rest when I finish these pints. Other flavors include Pistachio & Caramel, Peanut Butta Luva, Cocoa Haze, and Passionilla. Cute names, huh?
SorBabes is dairy free, plant based, vegan, gluten free and kosher (pareve). It is made with real fruit and nut butters.
Out of the first three flavors to try, I started with the Cafe Almond. This was my favorite of the three because I love the coffee flavor with the chocolate chunks. The other two flavors were hard to choose from as far as my favorite because they are special in their own way. I really enjoyed the thick raspberry jam and the hint of chocolate in the raspberry was nice. It’s a flavor I’m not used to, but I did finish the entire pint if that says anything! Finally, the Jam’n Lemon is just one of those flavors that’s best enjoyed outdoors on a hot summer day. All three flavors were yummy and I’d definitely buy them again.
